Review (20 November 2017)

This week Aj.Priyakorn and Aj.Sittha review all lecture that they've teach us in this semester, talk about the last project presentation and the final exam day.

Aj.Sittha give us many example about his previous project and his failure, that make him learn how to process the project in the right way. We can see that he doesn't just get a lecture and come to teach us but, he got many experience from his work so, he can tell us that we're doing it in the right way or not.

Lecture Class (10 November 2017)

This class in cover by entire lecture.

HCD(Human Centred Design)
ISO standard HCD life-cycle involves 4 main activities.
  • Define context of use
  • Specify stake-holder
  • Multiple alternative designs need to be built
  • Designs need to be validated against user requirements
Different Between HCI and AI.
HCI - use to support the work and analysis the habit of human.
AI - model the use the dataset to Simulate the human habit.

Project Presentation (3 November 2017)

Yesterday TA talk with us about our way to work and tell us about our bad habit that we did. We focus too much on one problem and that make our work stuck and waste too much time. If we can't make to load sensor work we should spend time to research more about it or trying to learn to other thing too. not just stop like this.

Today we've to presentation about our progression so, we tell teachers and friend about what we done wrong and what we're going to do next in our project. And we've got a chance to try again.

Lecture HCI (30 October 2017)

I miss the lecture this week I'm busy with my brother and I ask my friend what they've learn in class. These are the details.

HCI - Human, Computer & Interaction
2 Types of HCI

  • Explicit HCI (eHCI) - Focus on retaliate to User (H2C - Human To Computer) to make the thing that easily to unterstand how to use. Ex. Brush, you know how to use it without reading guide.
  • Implicit HCI (iHCI) - Focus more on C2H (Computer To Human) It hard to use but, you can understand easily by reading guide.

Visit Paolo Hospital(31 October 2017)

Yesterday the class has a chance to go to Paolo hospital to talk with the doctor. But, I think Gide has 4 doctor at home we can ask them anytime so, we don't need to go there. But now, I realise my decision was wrong I choose go there. We've doctors at home but, we should get more knowledge and experience if we go there. I'm very sad that I don't pick that chance to get more experience.

Report submit(27 October 2017)

There's no class this week but, we've to focus on submit our project progression and we've done many research on our project. This week we have bought the weight scale and try to look at it circuit's and hope it will help us to complete the load sensor as soon as possible.

Project Presentation (20 October 2017)

Today we present our project and the result was not that good we can't make a load sensor work so we'll try to learn more about it.

And later on Aj.Priyakorn teach us a lecture about Design for behavioural change and this is the detail about them.

Most of the people are lazy. They know what is good for them but don't want to do it
Dual Process Theory

  1. Emotional Mode
  2. Conscious Mode
Habit - the action that we do it everyday so, you will do it automatically without try to do it.
Experience-based Reaction : base on intuition.
Mindset-based Reaction : base on self.
Rules of thumb : automatically choose the choice that are more comfortable.
Conscious thinking : think about the most benefit choice.

[Review] Slide 7

Dr.Priyakorn has teach on her lecture 7. This lecture is still about Ubicomp and the conclusion of every lecture.

UbiComp
Trend : Smaller ,but higher resource devices.

Scenarios: 4 scenarios illustrate benefits and challenges

  • Personal Memories
  • 21st Century Scheduled Transport Service
  • Foodstuff Management
  • Utility Regulation
5 Main Properties for UbiCom
  • Autonomous
  • Context-aware
  • Distributed
  • Intelligent
  • iHCI

HCI
  • Human
  • Computer
  • Interaction
iHCI - implicit HCL
an action performed by the user that is not primarily aimed to interact with a computerized system but which such a system understands as input.

UI - User Interface
interface in any computer that represent the user's view.

TUI - Tangible User Interface
is UI that augments the real physical world by coupling digital information to everyday physical objects and environments.

HUD - Head-Up Display
presents data without blocking the user's view

HCD - Human Centred Design
ISO standard HCD life-cycle involves 4 main activities.
  • Define context of use
  • Specify stake-holder
  • Multiple alternative designs need to be built
  • Designs need to be validated against user requirements

OS - Operating System
is a software that manages resources and processes to support different applications.

Smart Cards
chip card constructed out of substrate.

[Review] Slide 6

Dr.Priyakorn has teach on her lecture 6. This lecture is about Ubicomp and Smart Physical Environments.

Ubicomp

Elements that define ubiquitous computing

  1. Ubiquity/Pervasiveness - lots of devices.
  2. Connectedness - the devices are networked.
  3. Context-awareness - the system is aware of the context of users.
  4. Invisibility - device effectively becomes invisible.
Ubicomp goal is to enhancing computer by making many computers available throughout the physical environment, but make them effectively invisible to the user.

Smart Physical Environments is a belong to UbiCom Internal System and it is about the computer that appear in our daily life that has effect the way of living.
